1. Hard-Boiled Easter Eggs:


Ingredients:
  • 1 dozen eggs
Directions:
  1. Place the eggs in a pot with salt water and bring to a boil (5 minutes only).
  2. After 5 minutes, take the eggs off the heat and cover the pot for another 10 minutes.
  3. Now proceed to drain the water out.
  4. Set the eggs among ice cubes or run them under cold water.
  5. Peel the eggs and quarter them.
  6. Make these eggs 2 days before Easter.

2. Traditional Easter Marbled Pace Eggs:


Ingredients:
  • 6-8 eggs
  • 6 -8 red and yellow onion skins
  • 6-8 small rectangles of aluminum foil
  • Butter (optional)
Directions:
  1. Begin by randomly wrapping bits of onion skins around the eggs partially.
  2. Proceed to encase the eggs in the rectangular pieces of aluminum foil covering them completely.
  3. Now boil the eggs for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Take the eggs off the heat and run them under cool water.
  5. When they cool off, peel away the layers of aluminum foil and onion skin.
  6. Consider polishing the eggs with some butter to deepen the color.

3. Chocolate Cream Filled Easter Eggs:




Ingredients:

  • 45 gram semisweet chocolate
  • ½ cup condensed milk (sweet)
  • ½ cup softened butter
  • ½ tsp corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 6-7 cups sugar
  • Yellow food coloring

Directions:
  1. Mix the butter, condensed milk, corn syrup, vanilla and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add the sugar in 3-4 stages, stirring well so that there are no granules or lumps.
  3. Knead the mixture and add any more icing sugar if needed, until it forms a smooth paste that holds shape and is like dough.
  4. Take ¼ of the mixture and color it yellow. Make around 5-10 small balls with it.
  5. With the remaining mixture, make 5-10 larger balls.
  6. Flatten the larger ball in your palm and cover the smaller (yellow) ball with it.Work around the dough until it resembles an egg and set it aside.
  7. Let the eggs cool down until they become firm.
  8. Once they have cooled down, melt the chocolate bar in a small pot set inside boiling water and using a fork (fondue fork) dip the eggs into the chocolate one by one.
  9. Let the eggs cool down until the chocolate hardens.
  10. Serve chilled.

4. Tie-Dye Easter Eggs:


Ingredients:
  • A dozen hard-boiled white eggs
  • ½ cup white vinegar
  • Food colors (red, blue, green, yellow)
Directions:
  1. Place the hard boiled eggs in a colander and splash vinegar over them.
  2. Drip the food color onto the eggs, do this gradually, around 2-3 eggs at a time.
  3. Shake the colander gently so that the color spreads.
  4. Let the color set on the eggs for 30 seconds.
  5. Repeat the steps with as many shades as you want. (stop if the colors get too muddy)
  6. Once the colors set, rinse the eggs lightly with water.
  7. Dab them dry on paper towels and set aside.

5. Onion Skin Easter Eggs:


Ingredients:
  • 6-8 fresh eggs
  • 10-18 onion skins (red or yellow, not both)
Directions:
  1. Place a thick layer of onion skins in a pot.
  2. Now add a layer of 3-4 eggs.
  3. Cover the eggs with another layer of onion skin.
  4. Repeat the above steps with the rest of the onions.
  5. Fill the pot up with water.
  6. Begin cooking the eggs on medium heat and keep checking on them until they turn a light burgundy.
